The 2024 South China Book Festival and Yangcheng Book Fair will officially open tomorrow. On August 15th, one day before the opening, reporters got a peek at the main venue at Pazhou.

This year's book festival stands out with its enhanced focus on "internationalization," "integration of culture and tourism," and "platform building." For the first time, a special exhibition commemorating the 100th anniversary of Jin Yong's birth and a digital publishing section will be featured, offering high-quality reading content and diverse cultural activities combined with reading.

Notably, the layout of this year's exhibition spaces is more open and spacious, offering visitors an improved experience. The aesthetic design of the exhibition areas is more modern and stylish, with the main venue of the Yangcheng Book Fair adorned primarily in purple, resembling a sea of flowers—dreamlike and vibrant—adding a stunning visual appeal to the festival.

Stepping into the French Pavilion , visitors are greeted by elements of the French flag and a miniature Eiffel Tower, a nod to the "China-France Cultural Spring. " This display reflects the richness and romance of French culture. A selection of French-related books is being showcased, including works that have won the prestigious Fu Lei Translation and Publishing Award , as well as over a hundred books translated from French-speaking countries.

According to Wu Zhenhua, the director of the French Pavilion, the space is divided into five sections: "Discover France," "Flavors of France," "Charming France," "French Architectural Art," and "Sports and Recreation. " These areas highlight the China-France cultural exchange through literature, gastronomy, art, and travel.

"In general, book fairs are seen as places to showcase books. However, to immerse visitors in France's cultural ambiance, we've invited the French fashion design school ESMOD to display trendy clothing designs. Throughout the festival, there will also be tastings of French ice cream, bread, and wine," Wu said.

Wu also noted that the recent Paris Olympics has sparked a surge in interest in French tourism, and suggested that visitors "tour" France at the book festival to experience the country's unique romance and cultural allure.

Besides, in the Yangcheng Book Fair exhibition area, purple flooring combined with blue wave-like decorations above the stands evoke the tranquil beauty of Lingnan's mountains and rivers, with flowers and green lawns scattered throughout.

"This exhibition reflects the seamless blend of Guangzhou's thousand-year history and cultural landscape, creating a 'Flower City Study' environment for readers," said Qiu Shiwen, the director of the exhibition area. The sections will feature themes such as intangible cultural heritage, traditional Chinese medicine, and children's animation. In addition, cultural events with renowned authors such as Ge Liang, Cai Chongda, and Ye Jianqiang will be held throughout the festival.

提前探營2024南國書香節：展區設計煥新升級

2024南國書香節暨羊城書展今日開幕。8月15日，在書香節開幕前一天，記者提前探營了琶洲主會場。

相較往屆，今年書香節最大的特色是進一步強化“國際範”“文旅融合”“平臺搭建”三大特色優勢，並首設“金庸百年誕辰紀念”特展和數字出版展區，供給高品質閱讀內容和“閱讀+”多元文化活動。

值得一提的是，今年書香節各展區空間佈局更爲疏朗，市民逛展體驗更佳，展區美學設計也更爲新潮、時尚，尤其是以紫色爲主調的羊城書展主會場，形同花海，如夢似幻，成爲了南國書香節上一道亮麗的風景線。

走進法國館區，融合法國國旗元素和中法文化之春的埃菲爾鐵塔映入眼簾，展現出法國文化的多元與浪漫。一批批與法國相關的出版書籍正在“上架”，其中既有歷屆傅雷翻譯出版獎的獲獎作品，也有從法語國家引進出版的過百種圖書。

據法國館負責人吳振華介紹，法國館內分爲“遇鑑法蘭西”“舌尖上的法國”“魅力法國”“法國建築藝術”和“體育運動”5個展區，從文學、美食、藝術、旅遊等維度體現中法文化交流。

“在我們普遍認知裡，書展一般是展示圖書的場所，爲了讓民衆能夠體會到法國全方位的文化氛圍，我們還邀請了法國高等服裝設計學院ESMOD參展，展示時尚潮流的服裝設計。展會期間還有法式冰淇凌、法式麪包、紅酒等美食品鑑活動。”

吳振華表示，近期結束的巴黎奧運會掀起法國旅遊熱潮，讀者們不妨在書香節中“遊”法國，感受法國獨有的浪漫風格和文化魅力。

而在羊城書展展區，紫色地板與展架上方的藍色波紋裝飾點綴出“雲山珠水”的嶺南山水意境，草坪和鮮花隨處可見。

“展區體現了廣州千年城脈、文脈的山水相融，爲讀者營造出‘花城書房’的閱讀環境。”該展區負責人邱世文告訴記者，各板塊分別圍繞非遺藝術、中醫文化、兒童動漫等主題打造，同時還將舉辦葛亮、蔡崇達、葉健強等名家文化活動。
